Welcome to Kagurazaka Street Stage, Oedo Tour 2024
The English website for the Kagurazaka Street Stage, Oedo Tour 2024 has now been launched, following the Japanese site. This provides an exciting opportunity for English speakers to discover details about this vibrant festival. Scheduled for May 18th (Saturday) and 19th (Sunday), 2024, this festival transforms the entire area of Kagurazaka into a stage for traditional performing arts. It offers a fantastic opportunity for everyone, whether new to or familiar with Japanese traditional arts, to deeply enjoy these cultural performances. Admission is free. Our team members will join as volunteers.
On May 18th, the events include the "Kotohogi" Live Performance, Kagurazaka Rakuza – Storytellers' Theater, Geisha / Traditional Performing Artists Live Performance, Traditional Performing Arts Past and Present, Street Performance – Shinnai Nagashi, Street Performance – Johana Hikiyama Festival 'Iori Uta', and an Evening Concert (featuring Edo kyokugoma and Satsuma biwa). Please note that the "Geisha / Traditional Performing Artists Live Performance" requires pre-registration due to its limited access through a drawing.
On May 19th, the activities continue with Kagurazaka Rakuza – Storytellers' Theater, Performing Arts Tour and Street Live Performances in Kagurazaka, Deities Enjoyment Live Performance, Street Performance – Shinnai Nagashi, Street Performance – Johana Hikiyama Festival 'Iori Uta,' and Evening Live Music Performances (including Edo-Daikagura, Sou / Koto, Nagauta, and Nihonbuyo).
